In town and out in the country
Battle Ground has homes on city lots, and a lot of homes on acreage around it. The work differs. On a city lot, the panel and the hot tub or charger location are usually close together. On a larger property, the equipment may be a long way from the panel: a hot tub at the back of the yard, a charger at a detached garage, or a shop that needs its own feed. Longer distances mean different materials, trenching, and conduit, so we look at the route before we give you a price.
Hot tubs first
A hot tub is one of the most common reasons to add a new 240-volt circuit. It needs a dedicated circuit, a disconnect near the tub, and GFCI protection, all sized to the tub’s data plate. We do the electrical only, so your dealer or delivery crew still places the tub. Before delivery day, send us the tub’s amp rating, a photo of the open panel, and where it’s going. Rain and wet ground are part of life here, so outdoor equipment needs to be rated for it. Our hot tub guide has the details.
Power and permits in Battle Ground
Clark Public Utilities provides electric service in Battle Ground and throughout Clark County. When a job needs a shutdown at the meter or a service change, we coordinate with them.
Permits are simple to sort out here. Battle Ground isn’t on the Washington Department of Labor & Industries list of cities that run their own electrical permits, and Clark County doesn’t issue electrical permits either. Whether your home is in the city or out on acreage, electrical permits and inspections go through Washington L&I. We purchase the permit for our work and schedule the inspection.
EV chargers, panels, and shops
A Level 2 charger needs its own circuit and room in the panel. Homes with older or full panels may need an upgrade first, and a detached garage or shop can need its own feed from the house. Our guides on EV charger hookups and panel change-outs explain how we plan those. Our rebates guide covers Clark Public Utilities rebates.
Other electrical work around Battle Ground
We also do lighting, new outlets and GFCI protection, dedicated circuits, and troubleshooting for breakers that trip or outlets that quit. For a heat pump, your HVAC contractor installs the unit and we handle the dedicated circuit and outdoor disconnect. We’re also happy to work in the surrounding communities, including Brush Prairie, Hockinson, Meadow Glade, and Amboy.
